In her second start for 2023 at the HJGT Stonebridge in NC, Barbados National Junior player Jade Blakeley managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Unfriendly weather conditions of 36 degrees with wind and overcast skies , playing the course blind as she couldn’t make the practice round and tees set back for an upcoming D2 tournament , Jade Struggled the first day.
Coming into day two five shots back, and falling behind even more after the first three holes, Jade played the course shot for shot. After moving into second by the 14th, fell back two shots with a four putt on the par three 15th hole. Not deterred but determined Jade smashed her longest drive of the day on the 16th and went on to close with a spectacular par, birdie , birdie finish to clench the win by 1 shot.
